Grades 9 to 12 (Sr High Youth Group)

The Senior High Youth Group meets at 9:45 a. m. on Sunday mornings for informal fellowship and reflection. The young people also take part in special activities and events including trips, parties, cultural events and retreats. One of the most exciting components of the youth program is an annual summer trip which exposes the youth to new experiences that help them develop a deeper faith. Trips focus on service, learning, and spiritual development.

Past trips have varied widely, including:

Los Ninos - a program in northern Mexico focused on educating youth and allowing them to experience firsthand what life is like close to the border.

Fondwa, Haiti (FUMCOG's sister community) – an experience combining service with learning about life and faith in a developing country.

Appalachia Service Project – a challenging trip involving home repair projects in West Virginia and Tennessee.

Sierra Service Project – a similar work trip located in California.

New Orleans – a work trip focused on rebuilding homes destroyed by hurricane Katrina.

Taizé –a unique spiritual experience under the guidance of a monastic community in France with a mission for outreach to young people from all over the world.  This was the Summer 2009 trip.
