Mission Statement

The mission of the FUMCOG Chess Club is to welcome neighborhood children into a safe and nourishing learning environment after school. Our purpose is to play and learn chess and other board games well enough to participate in contests and meet game players from other areas. This is a part of our mission as a welcoming, reconciling church community: to open our doors to our neighbors, to learn from them, and to serve in the spirit of Jesus. Students of all faiths and cultures are invited to attend.
