DAY OF SERVICE: HELP LOCAL SENIORS STAY IN THEIR HOMES

Join us for a Day of Service, next Saturday, April 6. Through our partnership with Urban Resources Development Corporation (URDC), we will spend the day assisting Germantown senior and low-income homeowners with repairs such as painting, sheet rock, cleaning, woodwork, plumbing, and gardening.   We will meet at 8:30am in the church parking lot and assign participants to several work sites according to skills and interests. The work day runs to 3:00 pm and URDC provides tee-shirts, and a hoagie or pizza lunch, volunteers may stay for as many hours as they wish and all skill levels are welcome. POWER: WORKING TOGETHER FOR A JUST COMMUNITY

POWER is an organization of Pennsylvania faith communities and individuals committed to racial and economic justice on a livable planet. The cluster of POWER Congregations in Northwest Philly will gather on Tuesday, April 16th at 6:30pm for dinner and collaboration at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Mt Airy at 6900 Stenton Avenue, between Gorgas and Sedwick. Join us to connect with others who long to address injustices in our community and advocate for/help make local and city-wide policy changes. Ask Ray Torres (raytoress2@verizon) or Pastor Alisa (wailoo@fumcgo.org) for more information or simply come!

NEWISH TO FUMCOG?

Join us for a 3-session Intro Class.  We will delve into our faith community’s beliefs, practice of baptism, history, connections, and commitments to social justice.  Come explore the ways we seek to follow the Spirit of Christ working together, taking risks for social justice and peace in our community, our city, our nation, and our world.
